The Dangers of Not Vaccinating

Jenny McCarthy, a booger-eating celebrity, has been promoting the notion that Vaccines cause Autism.

Vaccines do not cause Autism.
Vaccines do not cause Autism.
Vaccines do not cause Autism.
Vaccines do not cause Autism.
Vaccines do not cause Autism.

I mention that because some people think that they do. They don't.

Vaccines do not cause Autism.

But, unknown to many Americans, what vaccines DO actually do is to help prevent the contraction of diseases. Vaccines can prevent infection!

Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.
Vaccines SAVE LIVES.

I mention that because there are so many folks arguing about what vaccines DON'T do, that it is sometimes easy to forget what they DO do.

Now from a poop joke to something a bit more somber, Phil Plait reports in a recent post on his blog that children have died from treatable diseases because they weren't vaccinated. This is a sad thing for a third-world country where vaccines are - WAIT! WTF? This happened in America? Seriously?

This is pathetic. I'll let Phil take it from here: An Unvaccinated Child Has Died From A Preventable Disease.
